The Detroit Tiger announcers are Jim Price and Dan Dickerson.
Jim Price
A member of the Tigers 1968 World Series champions, Jim Price begins his 22nd season overall on Tigers broadcasts and his 15th full season on the Tigers Radio Network.
· Originally joined Frank Beckmann on the Tigers radio broadcasts in June, 1998…had spent the first part of that season as a feature reporter on FOX Sports Net’s pre-game and “Tigers Weekly” programs.
· Began his Tigers broadcasting career on PASS cable telecasts in 1993, serving as play-by-play announcer…broadcast Tigers games on cable for five seasons.
· Was also the third man in the booth during the Tigers over-the-air broadcasts on WKBD-TV from 1995-97…filled in for a handful of games as play-by-play announcer in 1997.
· Played five major league seasons, all with the Tigers…played 64 games, 42 of them at catcher, for the 1968 team that defeatedSt. Louis in the Fall Classic.
· Was purchased by the Tigers in April of 1967 after seven minor league seasons with the Pirates.
· Named Minor League Player of the Year in 1963 while with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.
· A native of Harrisburg, PA, he was a three-sport star at Hershey (PA) High School…refused a number of college football scholarship offers to sign with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1960.
· Other broadcast credits include work as play-by-play man on Chicago White Sox cable telecasts, color commentary for ESPN college baseball and anchoring weekend sports on Detroit’s WJBK-TV.
· Assists in the Tigers front office efforts, focusing on baseball participation camps…joined the organization in 1992 as the Director of Community Relations.
· Inducted into the Kinston (NC) Baseball Hall of Fame in 1995, the Hershey High School Hall of Fame in 2006 and the Central Pennsylvania Hall of Fame in 2008.
· He and his wife, Lisa, founded a not-for-profit foundation called Jack’s Place For Autism in October of 2002 to benefit children with autism…the foundation, named after their son who was diagnosed with autism, works to provide services for individuals and families affected by the neurological disorder.
· Because of the tremendous community and corporate support, the foundation’s five-year plan was reached in a little over ayear…Jack’s Place For Autism partnered with Oakland University in Rochester, MI from 2004-2008…this partnership enabled Jack’s Place to deliver programming and services to individuals and families living with Autism Spectrum Disorder, including soccer, basketball, swimming, baseball, arts and theater…programs also included family counseling, sibling groups, social skills groups, seminars and training sessions for parents, caregivers, physicians, teachers and counselors…over 6,500 children and adults have participated in all of the Jack’s Place programs…while the foundation continues to financially support programs at Oakland University, they are currently working on program and delivery sites expansion, as well as a facility that will house “Quality of Life” programming and a long-term living environment, the first of its kind in the country.
Dan Dickerson
After making his Tigers broadcasting debut in 2000, veteran Michigan sports announcer Dan Dickerson returns for his 15th season in the booth and his 12th season as the lead play-by-play voice of the Tigers.
· Won the 2008 Ty Tyson Excellence in Sports Broadcasting Award, named after the Tigers pioneer broadcaster, Ty Tyson, and is awarded annually by the Detroit Sports Broadcasters Association.
· Named Michigan Sportscaster of the Year in 2005 and 2006 by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.
· Co-host of “Tiger Talk,” a weekly off-season talk show on WXYT that focuses on Tigers news and baseball hot stove topics.
· Dickerson also does play-by-play for FOX Sports Detroit in the off-season, covering the MHSAA High School Football Championship games, the CCHA and University of Detroit-Mercy basketball.
· Dickerson previously worked for five years with former Tigers flagship WJR-AM, in a variety of roles: served as co-host of “WJR Sportswrap,” a nightly call-in show, worked as a sideline reporter and substitute play-by-play announcer for University of Michigan football and spent two seasons as play-by-play announcer for University of Michigan basketball.
· Spent six-and-a-half years with Detroit’s WWJ-AM from 1988-95, hosting a post-game call-in show following Detroit Lions broadcasts and serving as a sideline reporter for University of Michigan football…also anchored WWJ’s news and sports on the weekends and served as general assignment news reporter.
· Began his sports broadcasting career at WCUZ Radio in Grand Rapids,MI, working at the station from 1982-88 in both news and sports.
· Started in radio in 1980 with WMAX radio in Grand Rapids, covering general assignment news and anchoring afternoon newscasts.
· Earned his bachelor of arts degree from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1980.
· Resides in Clarkston, MI with wife, Lori, and children, Rachel (1/13/95) and Justin (4/9/98).

Mario Impemba is the play-by-play voice of the Detroit Tigers on Fox Sports Detroit. The 2014 season will be his 13th with the Tigers after seven years as the radio voice of the Los Angeles Angels.
Beginning this year Mario will be delivering unique, behind-the-scenes content about the Tigers players and organization. This one-of-a-kind feature will air every weekday on more than 30 Michigan radio stations, including 98.3 WLCS.
Mario’s Minute will air Monday through Friday on 98.3 WLCS and the Mario’s Minute feature changes daily, airing three (3) times per day Monday – Friday at 8:37 am, 12:20 pm, and 5:20 pm.
