The #16-ranked Grand Valley State Football team took to University Center this past Saturday afternoon for a “Battle of the Valleys” clash against the rival Saginaw Valley State Cardinals looking to snap out of a two-game slide.
However, turnovers would be one of the main storylines of the contest as the Lakers turned the ball over five times and were unable to overcome an early 21-0 deficit as the Cardinals were able to prevail and capture a 27-20 home victory to improve to 4-4 overall and 2-2 in GLIAC play.
With the loss, GVSU fell to 5-3 overall and 1-3 against conference oppositon.
