The #2-ranked Grand Valley State Football team took to Detroit this past Saturday for their final regular season road contest to take on the Wayne State Warriors in the “Battle for the Wooden Shoes” and left no doubt as to what the ultimate result would be in the game.

With the win, the Lakers have now won eight in a row and sit at 8-1 overall, 5-0 in GLIAC play, and can capture a second consecutive outright GLIAC championship this Saturday afternoon in the regular season finale against the nationally ranked Davenport Panthers (8-1, 4-1 GLIAC) at Lubbers Stadium.
